This car was originally raced in the 'Super Coupe Cup' race series and was last used competitively in 1999. The car and driver still hold several UK lap records.

Then was un-used until 2004 when Bob Smith raced it at Thruxton in the Renault 5 30th Anniversary race, where he finished 3rd overall.

Since then, the car has been completely dismantled and re-built for Hillclimb and Sprint purposes. Its 1st event was at Harewood Speed Hillclimb in May 2007, finishing 3rd in Class.

The picture shown is the car at Prescott Hillclimb French Car Day 27/05/07, finishing 1st in Class.

CLIO 16V J 1991 originally 66,000 miles – now fitted 2.0 Williams engine with cams, vernier pulleys, modified head, Devil exhaust manifold, bottom end re-build, new clutch, modified ECU giving genuine 190 bhp, 10 row oil cooler, new radiator, Devil exhaust system, lowered Koni suspension, Willwood 4 pot callipers, Brembo discs, Aeroquip brake lines, strut brace, new heater matrix, leather steering wheel, OMP seats, battery mounted in the boot, 16” gold alloys with Toyo tyres. Body re-painted, headlamp kit, front splitter, new rear lights, etc. (list is endless), MOT & taxed.
Approx 1000 running-in miles since re-build conversion.
Very quick car, suitable for Hillclimb/Sprints or Track Days or just a quick road car.

In 2004 Cituning were approached to be involved with this project car. It was opportune that we were already in development of our 'Maxi' wide arch bodyconversion, as was the fact that it was perfectly suited to the modifications outlined for this particular project.

We were delighted with the outcome of the car - when you see it in the flesh the car comes alive - and for us, as developers and manufacturers of the exterior bodystyling fitted to the car, it is a real pleasure to see our products used in such an innovative way!

This C2 really has taken car modification to another level!

The car was unveiled at Max Power Live 2005 at the NEC in Birmingham and won the 'Best at Show' award.

Also featured on the television programmes 'Top Gear' - BBC2 and 'Fifth Gear' - Channel 5.

We have a wealth of experience in Turbo Charger Engineering, and we can now offer a Turbo Conversion dedicated to the Saxo VTR 8v engine. The ‘Entry Level’ kit has been specially designed by Cituning as a 'bolt on kit' giving a minimum of +30-40bhp at 6psi boost.

It isn’t only the power increase achieved when fitting one of these kits, but more importantly the torque is significantly improved making the car easier and safer to drive especially in overtaking situations. For further significant power and torque increases we have developed extra ‘Stages’. All kits can be tailored to your requirements, so please contact us for assistance.

For starters we offer the ‘Entry Level’ kit. This bolt on kit requires no internal modifications. We have developed all further modifications so they can be directly added at a later date. For example, we can offer the more ardent enthusiast Forged Pistons, a Low Compression Cylinder Head, Dump Valve, Fifth Injector, Intercooler, 2 Stage Boost and Water Injection.

The 2 Stage Boost and Water Injection have been specially developed to produce power without detonation. Derived from the same systems used on current ‘World Rally Cars’ the high boost setting is activated with a dash-mounted button.

We can fit these conversions in our workshop and would need the car for approx 2 days to complete the work. We charge around £600 for fitting the ‘Entry Level’ kit with oil and coolant. For the more hands on we can supply the kit for D.I.Y. along with detailed fitting instructions including pictures.

Our new wide bodykit based on the Super 1600 rally car. Fitted to our
Clio 172 Sport base model, the car has had a few other modifications and runs with around 190bhp.

The 'Maxi V3' kit comprises of front and rear bumpers, front replacement wings, rear quarter panels and alloy fuel filler. The kit makes the car approx 6ft wide! We usually develop a 3 piece alloy wheel for fitment with the kit, but this time we have fitted 8" x 18" Monza Alloys with a spacer kit we have had made.

The car is painted in the standard Renault 172 silver and the graphics have been designed to be more subtle than other themes we have previously done.

This car was completed by the beginning of August 2004. The car is a standard Series 2 Clio 172 owned by Mark Ryan. He lent us his car as a donor to develop our new 'Maxi' bodykit based on the Maxi Rally competition car.

The kit comprises of front and rear bumpers, front replacement wings, rear quarter panels and alloy fuel filler. The kit makes the car approx 6ft wide and is something to see in the flesh! Due to the width of the car you need to run a wider 3 piece wheel - which we have manufactured to suit, or a wheel and spacer kit.

This car is fitted with 18" 3 piece alloys.

The car is painted in the standard Renault 172 silver, which really does the whole kit justice and the graphics were then added to complete the rally theme.

Mark also wanted us to modify the engine. We included a fully modified cylinder head, fast road cams, throttle bodies, competition clutch, Quick Shift and multipoint nitrous - Maximum Power now increased to 240-250bhp + 30bhp Nos kit.

In early 2004, Cituning were commissioned by Citroen UK to modify this C2 GT for 'The Sunday Times Motorshow Live'.

It was initially modified to appear in the live action 'Motropolis' arena at the NEC Motorshow in May 2004. The car was then featured in the August 2004 issue of Max Power magazine. The car was also displayed on the Citroen stand at Max Power Live in July 2004. Max Power magazine and Citroen have been running an ongoing competition - this C2 being the prize! The winner will drive the car away from the Max Power Live show - Excel, London at the end of November 2004.

The car has been fitted with the following: Chrono Evolution Front Spoiler, Chrono Side Skirts, Chrono Rear Valance, Quad Headlamp Conversion, Sports Front Grill, RS-R Rear Spoiler, Lexus Rear Light Clusters, Door Mirror Covers with Indicators and Twin 115mm Rear Silencer. The windows were tinted, amazing graphics and undercar neons were fitted. The car was lowered 50mm and fitted with 18" Titanium alloys.

When the C2 model first came out on the market, we really wanted to get on and prepare a car. Lovekyn Citroen Kingston kindly gave us a 'Donor Car' so we could get on and develop something for the C2.

The car was completed at the end of 2003 and was the first UK C2 to be magazine featured by Max Power in the Spring 2004 edition.

The owners of the car brought the car along to the 'French Car Show' at Bruntingthorpe in May 2004.

This car now lives in the Surrey area.

After developing the WRC replica 'RS-2' bodykit, we decided that it would be a great idea to develop the kit one stage further, and Citroen London West kindly gave us the 'Donor Car'.

We took the RS-2 bumpers and made them fit as direct replacements for the originals. Still giving the 'WRC Look' but a bodykit that would be far more cost effective to fit and run on an everyday car, rather than a wide body show car.

We finished the kit off with the WRC Replica Rear Spoiler, Lexus Rear Light Clusters, WRC Side Skirts and 17" Monza Alloys.

Fitted up with the sparkly chequered flag graphics all the car needed was a name……Sebastian Loeb won the Monte Carlo WRC rally in January 2003 and we decided to name the kit in recognition of his win!

We have always thought that a car fitted up with this kit and painted in the Citroen 'Vellalunga Red', complete with the WRC graphics would look as good as any wide body replica. This bodykit fits any Series 2 Xsara.

This new bodykit from 'ASD Tuning' has been authenticated by Universal Studios film '2 Fast 2 Furious'.

Brooklyn Citroen, Redditch kindly gave us the donor car for this project. The base model is a 1.4 Furio and is fitted with 15" 'Fox 3 EVO' alloys.
